Hyderabad: Eminent academic administrator, former Vice-Chancellor BR Ambedkar Open University and IGNOU, NAAC ex-director, Prof VS Prasad advised the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) to go for the triple mode of education by launching online courses. The MANUU already runs courses in regular mode and distance education.

Delivering the keynote address during the webinar on ‘National Education Policy 2020 – An Integrated Approach to MANUU’ on Saturday, Prof Prasad said the new education policy could be implemented effectively through an integrated approach and strategy.


He also suggested exploring the inter-disciplinary combinations in 75 courses offered by the MANUU. Full utilisation of human potential, education for the development of the country was among the main objectives of the policy, he added.

In his address, MANUU in-charge Vice-Chancellor Prof SM Rahmatullah emphasised on making full use of the unique mandate given to Urdu University in the light of NEP. He termed the new education policy as a revolutionary initiative and said that special attention has been paid to the quality of education and research. Technical sessions on various aspects of the new education policy were also organised.

MANUU in-charge registrar Prof Siddiqui, Dean Research and Consultancy Prof Salma Ahmed, Dean Academics & webinar convener Prof Saneem Fatima, and other academicians and subject-matter experts also participated in the webinar.
