New Rs 52 crore Musi River bridge at Moosarambagh to open soon

A new 400-metre bridge across the Musi River at Moosarambagh, built at an estimated cost of Rs 52 crore, is nearing completion. GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan directed officials to complete pending works to enable its safe opening to commuters

Hyderabad: The new bridge built across the Musi River at Moosarambagh will be opened to commuters after the completion of the remaining works, GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan said.

Built at an estimated cost of Rs 52 crore, the 400-metre-long and 14.5-metre-wide bridge is expected to improve traffic connectivity between Amberpet and Moosarambagh, reduce travel time and ease congestion on existing routes, according to a press release.

The bridge has 3.5-metre-wide footpaths to ensure safe and convenient pedestrian movement.

Karnan inspected the ongoing works along with senior GHMC engineering officials on Saturday and directed them to complete all pending works on priority.

He instructed officials to ensure that the road approaches, safety measures, lighting, pedestrian facilities and other finishing works met the required standards before the inauguration.

Karnan also directed officials to complete the remaining works at the earliest to ensure that the bridge could be opened to commuters smoothly and safely.
