Karimnagar: A newly married woman, Muddasani Akhila (22), died in a road accident on Rajiv Rahadari at Thimmapur on Friday.
The incident occurred when an unidentified vehicle rammed into a two-wheeler on which the deceased and her husband, Raju, were travelling. The couple was returning home after completing an examination. While Akhila died on the spot, Raju sustained injuries. Locals shifted him to a hospital.
According to the police, Akhila, a native of Rukmapur in Choppadandi mandal, had gone to Thimmapur with her husband to attend a postgraduate entrance examination at a private college.
The accident took place while they were returning home. Akhila and Raju had been married just three days earlier.
Upon receiving information, police rushed to the spot and began an investigation after registering a case. The body was shifted to the Karimnagar district headquarters hospital for postmortem.
