Newly married woman dies while celebrating Bathukamma in Nirmal

A newly-married woman collapsed during Bathukamma celebrations in Wanalpad village, Bhainsa mandal. Despite being rushed to a hospital, she passed away while receiving treatment.

Nirmal: A 25-year-old newly wedded woman died while celebrating the finale of the Bathukamma festival at Wanalpad village in Bhainsa mandal on Sunday.

Family members and locals said that Rushitha collapsed while participating in the celebrations of the floral festival during the festival. She was immediately shifted to a hospital in Bhainsa. She breathed her last while undergoing treatment.

Hailing from Gollawada village in Narsapur (G) mandal, Rushitha was married to Raju in May.

 

Mancherial student ends life after parents deny bike request

In Mancherial, a 20-year-old student died by suicide after his parents refused to buy him a motorbike at Lambadi Thanda in Luxettipet town on Saturday evening.

Police said Rathod Manikantha, an ITI student, ended life by hanging, reportedly depressed after his parents turned down his request for a bike. He had been insisting on the two-wheeler for the past 10 days. Doctors declared him brought dead after he was shifted to a hospital.

Dhara Singh, father of Manikantha, lodged a complaint with the police. A case was registered and investigations are underway.

 

Maharashtra man held with undocumented cash in Mancherial

In an unrelated news, Mancherial police seized unaccounted cash to the tune of Rs 1.90 lakh from a resident of Maharashtra at a check post at Parupelli village in Kotapalli mandal on Saturday night.

Kotapalli Sub-Inspector Rajender said that Gadapalli Sai from Regunta village in Sironcha Taluqa was found to be carrying the cash without valid documents during a vehicle check held at the check post. Sai was on his way to Regunta from Nagpur at the time of the incident.

The cash was handed over to the static surveillance team for further action.
