NGOs bring holy water from Sangam to Secunderabad for last Shahi Snan on Maha Shivratri
Sri Uma Narmadeshwar Seva Trust arranged holy water from Triveni Sangam and placed it in a small pool in the apartments, allowing apartment inmates to take a dip in the pool
Hyderabad: As the last Shahi Snan as part of Maha Kumbh Mela concluded in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj on Wednesday, several NGOs arranged a unique opportunity for the people in the city to take a dip in the holy water.
Recognising that several people could not make it to the Maha Kumbh Mela due to various reasons, NGOs have brought water from Triveni Sangam, allowing people to take a dip in the holy water on the last day of Shahi Snan, coinciding with Maha Shivaratri on Wednesday.
One such NGO is the Sri Uma Narmadeshwar Seva Trust, which provided a unique opportunity for several families residing in apartments in Bowenpally and Secunderabad areas to have their last Shahi Snan. The trust volunteers arranged holy water from Triveni Sangam and placed it in a small pool in the apartments, allowing apartment inmates to take a dip in the pool.
Apart from NGOs, several people who took holy dip in Triveni Sangam in the last couple of days brought back water in bottles, distributing them to their kin and kith.
