Hyderabad: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has issued a stay order asking not to proceed with Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) until clearances are obtained from the competent authority.
The tribunal issued the order after hearing arguments of advocates who argued the case on behalf of State governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The tribunal heard the arguments of Additional Advocate General appearing for Telangana on the question of limitation and also regarding interim order to be passed in reply to what was stated by senior counsel appearing for the applicant in the case and Advocate General for Andhra Pradesh.
The reply from the Advocate General for AP and senior counsel for the applicant were also heard. D. Ramesh Kumar, appearing for Krishna River Management Board (KRMB), submitted that they have already submitted an interim report that can be considered by the tribunal.
