Peddapalli: National Highway Authority of India- Mancherial signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with National Thermal Power Corporation-Ramagundam to lift pond ash.

The project implementation unit (PIU) of NHAI-Mancherial, has decided to lift 6.31 lakh cubic meters (LCM) pond ash from the ash pond of the power unit in the next four months.

The pond ash is to be used in the construction of 42 kilometres long four-lane National Highway-363 from Mancherial to Repallewada in Telangana State. This will help reduce travel time between Vijaywada and Nagpur on road.

Chief General Manager, NTPC-Ramagundam and Telangana, Sunil Kumar signed the MoU with Project Director, NHAI-Mancherial, Ravindra Rao in the presence of senior officials from NTPC and NHAI at a programme held at NTPC on Saturday.

This will not only help NHAI to meet their urgent need but also boost NTPC’s already proactive initiative to achieve a hundred percent ash utilisation.

During the last three years, the power station achieved over a hundred percent ash utilisation. In the current financial year, the station as of today achieved 100.07% ash utilisation.
