NIA arrests Telangana social worker for alleged Maoist links
The NIA arrested Gade Innaiah, a social worker from Jangaon, Telangana, under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for alleged links with CPI (Maoist). He runs an orphanage for 200 children. NIA cited investigation and witness protection as grounds for custody.
Hyderabad: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday arrested Gade Innaiah alias Gade Inna Reddy, from Jangaon district of Telangana under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act – UP(P) Act for allegedly supporting CPI (Maoist), inciting the people to – commit unlawful activities and to continue Maoist revolution.
The NIA is shifting Innaiah, who is considered a social worker and runs an orphanage for around 200 children at Janagaon.
A NIA team headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police , Kaki Rahul Teja went to the ‘Maa Illu Prajadharana Ashramam, Janagaon in the morning and took Innaiah into custody. He was later escorted in a convoy of police vehicles to the city where he will be produced before the NIA Court.
The NIA cited the following grounds for arrest of Innaiah – for smooth conduct of further investigation, to prevent him from committing further offence, to prevent him from tampering evidence, to prevent from threatening witnesses and to uncover the larger conspiracy.
