NIA conducts searches at Maoist sympathisers houses in AP and Telangana

Hyderabad: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted a series of searches at the houses of CPI (Maoist) sympathizers and its frontal organizations leaders in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh since early Thursday.
At Subashnagar in Alwal, a NIA team searched the house of
Amarula Bandhu Mitrula Sangham assistant secretary Bhavani and secretary Padma Kumari. The NIA officials surrounded their houses and carried out the searches.
The houses of writer N Ravi and B Anuradha were also searched in the city. In Andhra Pradesh, another NIA team conducted searches at the house of senior Virasam leader G Kalyan Rao at Alakurapadu in Prakasam district.
One more NIA team raided the house of Pragathi Sheela Karmika Sangham leader Annapurna.
Responding to the NIA searches, Virasam members A Krishna, Rivera and Paani said the investigators were infringing the rights of people and everyone should condemn it. The NIA teams ransacked the articles in the name of searches and did not explain the reasons behind their move.
The Virasam leaders demanded that the government immediately stop these searches.
