Hyderabad: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Hyderabad, in association with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and My Bharat, successfully organised the Khadi 5K Run – “Move in Khadi, Move India” here on Saturday.
The student-led initiative aimed to take Khadi beyond its historical association with India’s freedom movement and bring it into contemporary youth culture through fashion, design and collective participation, a press release said.
By combining a 5-kilometre run with specially crafted Khadi running vests, the event highlighted how traditional Indian textiles can be reinterpreted for modern lifestyles while retaining their cultural significance, it said.
