Hyderabad: After days of foggy mornings, Hyderabad woke up to a bright Thursday. Even though the night temperature has soared slightly, experts predict that the city is likely to witness chillier nights over the weekend.
On Tuesday, the average minimum temperature recorded in the city was 19.2 degrees Celsius, whereas Rajendranagar witnessed the lowest minimum temperature of 15.3 degrees Celsius.
According to the forecast by India Meteorological Department, Hyderabad, due to the western disturbances and cyclonic circulation over the northern parts of the country, it is likely that the night temperature might drop in several parts of Telangana, including Hyderabad. During the first two weeks of February, the minimum temperature in the State is likely to be two to five degrees below normal.
As per the data recorded at various Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) by Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), the minimum temperature is likely to drop in most localities situated on the outskirts of the city, including Serilingampally and Kapra. As a result, the day-time temperature might also fall below 30 degree Celsius.
Several districts of Telangana, especially Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Nirmal and Karimnagar, are likely to witness a cold-wave-like situation again on Saturday and Sunday.
According to the forecast, the night temperature in these areas might range from five degree Celsius to 10 degree Celsius.
