Adilabad: In a tragic incident, a nine-year-old boy died of asphyxiation after tamarind seeds got stuck in his throat at KRK Colony here on Friday evening.
Police said that Mangesh, son of Jyothiram and Ashabai, chewed the seeds while playing. He struggled to breathe when the seeds got stuck in his throat. He was immediately shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS)-Adilabad. However, he breathed his last while undergoing treatment.
Based on a complaint received from Jyothiram, a case has been registered. An investigation has been taken up.
