Nirmal Municipal vice-chairperson suspended from TRS: Indrakaran
Nirmal: Municipal vice-chairperson Shaik Sajid, who was booked on charges of raping a minor girl case, was suspended from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Monday.
Disclosing this to mediapersons here, Forest Minister Indrakaran Reddy said that Sajid’s primary membership of the party was also terminated following his alleged involvement in the offence. He termed the incident as deplorable and that steps were being taken to ensure justice to the victim.
He warned that no one would be spared if they are involved in crime bringing disrepute to the party.
On Sunday, a case was registered against Sajid on charges of outraging the modesty of a 15-year-old girl from YSR Colony in the town. He reportedly took her to different parts and raped her multiple times for quite a long time. The shocking incident came to light when her parents approached the police. The victim was rescued and has been housed at Sakhi centre in Nirmal town.
