NIT Warangal to assist TGPCB in Krishna river management plan
The Telangana Pollution Control Board has sought interim recommendations from NIT Warangal on the Condition Assessment and Management Plan of River Krishna. Officials discussed implementing immediate measures instead of waiting for the final study report

Hyderabad: The Telangana Pollution Control Board (TGPCB) has sought interim recommendations from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal on the Condition Assessment and Management Plan of River Krishna.
The TGPCB was of the view that instead of waiting for the final study report, immediate measures could be implemented by the respective stakeholder departments based on interim recommendations.
On Saturday, NIT Warangal Prof NV Umamahesh presented the status of the project titled “Condition Assessment and Management Plan of River Krishna” to TGPCB, PHED and CDMA officials.
Prof Umamahesh explained that in line with Namami Ganga, the condition assessment for management of River Krishna for rejuvenation was being carried out by NIT Warangal. The presentation highlighted various issues and further requirements for completing the study in a three-year duration.
TGPCB Member Secretary G Ravi assured NIT Warangal that all necessary support would be provided and the required inputs and coordination with the stakeholder departments would be ensured.
