NIT Warangal to confer Honoris Causa degrees at 23rd Convocation
NIT Warangal will host its 23rd Convocation on November 28, with dignitaries including Anand Ramamoorthy, Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, and Dr. Samir V. Kamat. A total of 1,913 students will graduate, with several receiving gold medals and awards for academic excellence and research.

Warangal: National Institute of Technology, Warangal (NITW) is going to celebrate its 23rd Convocation on November 28, informed the institute Director Prof. Bidyadhar Subudhi.
Vice President and Managing Director, Micron India, Micron Technology Operations India LLP Anand Ramamoorthy, founder Chairman and former Managing Director, Cyient Ltd., Hyderabad Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy and Department of Defence Research and Development Secretary Dr. Samir V Kamat would be the guests at the convocation.
For the first time, the institute would confer the Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) on Dr. Samir V Kamat in recognition of his contribution towards the development of indigenous systems and technologies for Indian armed forces.
Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) would be conferred on Managing Director of Hitachi India, N Venu in recognition of his outstanding contribution towards India’s secure and sustainable energy transformation, the Director said.
As many as 1913 students would be conferred with degrees in the convocation, including 953 B.Tech students, 556 M.Tech students, 149 M.Sc. students, 38 MBA students, 56 MCA students, 142 Ph.D. scholars and 19 exit degrees such as B.Sc., B.Sc. (Honours), PG Diploma in Engineering, in line with the National Education Policy.
This year, Palacharla Sri Satya Naveen of Computer Science and Engineering Department would receive the Director’s Gold Medal as the topper across all B.Tech programmes.
Konda Shoushya would receive the Director’s Gold Medal for being the topper among all M.Tech programmes and Rohan Gupta would receive the Director’s Gold Medal for being the topper among MBA, MCA and MSc programmes.
Similarly Mir Rahaman would receive the best B.Tech project award, Ayesha Dange would receive the best M.Tech dissertation award and Dr. Nikhil Bharat would receive the best Ph.D. thesis award, the Director added.
