NITW launches full-time PhD, M.Tech and PG Diploma in self-finance mode

NITW launches full-time PhD, M.Tech and PG Diploma in self-finance mode

Warangal Urban: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal has launched full-time PhD, full-time M.Tech and full-time one year PG Diploma courses in self-finance mode. These programmes are offered in addition to the existing regular full-time and part-time PhD and full-time M.Tech programmes for which the admission is through GATE.

The self-financing courses will benefit the working professionals and others who wish to pursue higher studies at NIT, Warangal, said Prof N V Ramana Rao, Director, NITW. GATE qualification is desirable, but not mandatory for these courses.


The PhD (self-finance) is offered in all disciplines of Engineering, Sciences, Humanities, and Management. The M.Tech (self-finance) is offered in all disciplines of Engineering with five seats each in all the existing 28 M.Tech specialisations. The PG Diploma (self-finance) is offered in 19 emerging and cutting-edge areas in various Engineering Departments.  While the Department of Civil Engineering is offering eight programmes in Prefabricated Construction, Engineering Structures, Transportation Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Remote Sensing and GIS, Waste Management), the Department of Electrical Engineering is offering three programmes in Power Electronics and Drives, Power Systems Engineering, and Smart Electric Grid.

Department of Mechanical Engineering is offering one programme in Additive Manufacturing, while the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering: two programmes in the RF millimetre wave and 5G, Embedded Systems and IoT Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering: two programmes in Industrial Metallurgy and Materials Technology. Meanwhile, the Department of Chemical Engineering is offering one programme in Systems and Control Engineering and Department of Biotechnology is offering two programmes in Bioinformatics and Industrial Biotechnology.

“Interested candidates may visit NITW website http://www.nitw.ac.in for detailed information and submission of online applications. The closing date for online submission of application to self-finance M.Tech & PG Diplomas is July 15, 2021, and for both regular and self-finance PhD is July 17, 2021,” Prof Ramana Rao added.
