Warangal: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal, is going to offer three new MSc Programmes — Integrated MSc in Mathematics, Integrated MSc in Physics, and Integrated MSc in Chemistry from the academic year 2021-22 onwards as per the new National Educational Policy (NEP) – 2020. These courses are five-year programmes and an MSc Degree will be awarded. However, students have an option to exit after three years with BSc Degree based on the request subjected to passing all the courses in first three years and meeting the eligibility requirements.
The students have also an option to exit with a BSc (Honors) at the end of the fourth year based on the student’s request subjected to passing all the courses in the first four years and meeting the eligibility requirements. These programmes are unique in that they include engineering science core subjects, mandatory non-credit courses, Humanities and Social Science courses, and term projects in the 6th semester in addition to professional core courses and professional electives.
Students will be trained in research and teaching. The admission to these programmes can be done through the JOSAA based on JEE Rank of 2021. The number of seats in each programme is 20, out of which 50 percent of seats are reserved for Telangana State. The tuition fee is Rs 10,000 per semester. There is a good possibility of employment as well through campus interviews, according to a press release by the NITW.
