Rajanna-Sircilla: The Vemulawada Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple temple authorities are planning a ‘Nitya Annadana Satram’ in the shrine on the lines of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.
Though there is an annadana satram in the shrine, the capacity of it is less. While 1000 devotees are being provided meals for three days (Sunday, Monday and Friday) in a week, only 500 are being provided food in the remaining four days. It is not fulfilling the growing demand of devotees since thousands of pilgrims are visiting the shrine every day. Devotees are approaching hotels for food due to lack of availability of sufficient food in satram.
So, temple authorities have decided to construct a satram with modern facilities. The land has also been identified at the parking place near the ‘kodela’ queue line area.
Plans are being prepared to construct a G plus 2 storey building in an acre of land by spending Rs.35 crore. Besides a 10,000 seating capacity dining hall, modern kitchen sheds, waiting hall and lift will be developed in the building.
Engineering department officials are preparing plans to construct the satram by following the temple master plan. Authorities are planning to start construction works in the next coming two months by completing the process.
