Nizamabad: The family members of a girl staged a protest in front of the house of a BJP woman corporator on Wednesday alleging that her husband Akula Srinu was in a relationship with the girl.

The girl’s mother slapped him with her slippers at his house in Vinayaknagar in the town. They attacked Srinu after catching him red-handed with the girl in his house. Despite warnings, Srinu did not mend his ways and allegedly brought the girl to his house after blackmailing her, said the family members.

On coming to know about it, the livid family members came to Srinu’s house in the morning and attacked him even as his family tried to pacify the girl’s family. Srinu lured the innocent girl with false promises and brought her to his house, the family members alleged.

They demanded that the corporator render justice to them and ensure the safety of the girl and send her back to her house. The mother of the girl said that Srinu was like more than ‘Ravana’ and requested the residents who assembled in the locality to help her family.

The girl’s family members are considering lodging a complaint with the police against the corporator’s husband.
