Nizamabad: Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Aravind was placed under house arrest on Tuesday following the BJP’s call for a march to Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderabad in the wake of seizure of cash in Siddipet.
When police arrived at the MP’s house at Dwarakanagar, Aravind began protesting and arguing with the police officials, stating that it was illegal to detain him in the house without any arrest warrant. He spoke with Nizamabad ACP Srinivas Kumar over phone and express his ire over the house arrest.
Later, the BJP MP alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was deliberately arresting BJP leaders to prevent them from campaigning for the Dubbak by-election. “The people of Dubbak are aware of everything and will teach a lesson to the TRS in the by-election,” he said.
