Nizamabad Municipal staff attacked by bizman for appealing to wear mask
Municipal workers lodged a complaint in Three Town police station against the accused and staged a protest in front of the Nizamabad Municipal Corporation office
Nizamabad: Nizamabad-based Bombay Bakery owner and his son allegedly attacked the municipal corporation workers for appealing to wear the face mask during household garbage collection, on Saturday.
The Municipal staff had arrived to collect household garbage at Gouthamnagar colony of 39th division on Saturday morning. While collecting garbage, municipal workers Yadagiri, Srinu, Bishapathi, Ravi, Balraj and vehicle driver Santhosh Singh observed that Bombay Bakery owner Sofi and his son Fayaz were not wearing masks and requested them to wear one before handing over the garbage. This led an argument, following which Sofi and Fayaz attacked the workers with a spade and broke the mirror of the municipal garbage collection vehicle.
Later, the municipal workers lodged a complaint in Three Town police station against the accused and staged a protest in front of the Nizamabad Municipal Corporation office. They demanded action against the Bombay Bakery owners, following which the Three Town police conducted preliminary investigation and registered a case against the bakery owners.
Malyana Goverdhan, CITU leader, said that the municipal workers were frontline workers and were serving the society and protecting the lives of people. “While doing their duty, they appealed to them to wear masks, but the accused expressed anger over their request and attacked them,” he said.
