No intermediate second year exams in Telangana this year
Education Minister said that the State government will come out with new guidelines for the intermediate students soon

Hyderabad: In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, and keeping safety and well-being of students as priority, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to cancel the second year intermediate public examinations.
This was announced by Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy here on Wednesday.
Modalities for announcing the results will be prepared soon and accordingly, a committee has been constituted, the Minister said, adding that for students who wish to attend the exams to improve their scores, the same will be conducted when the situation is conducive.
The government decided to cancel the second-year intermediate exams to ease the pressure on students in wake of concerns among parents and students over the spread of Covid-19, the Minister said.
This decision of the government will benefit over 4.73 lakh second year intermediate students. It will also benefit 1.91 lakh second year students who failed in first year subjects.
Earlier, the government had promoted all the first year intermediate students without conducting the exams due to the pandemic. When the pandemic situation eases, exams will be held for those students who wish to improve their scores in first year intermediate.
