Karimnagar: Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi on Monday claimed that whoever becomes the Chief Minister, whether a Reddy or a Rao, would have to approach the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). People should reflect on why Chief Ministers approach the Owaisi brothers, he said.

Campaigning for AIMIM candidates, Owaisi addressed a public meeting at Velama Grounds here on Monday.

Referring to the Jubilee Hills election, the MIM legislator claimed that the Congress party could not win the seat without the support of the MIM.

Whoever the individual or whichever party is in power in the State, they would have to approach the MIM, and this, he said, was only because of the strength of the people.

Except for religious politics, the BJP did not know anything, he alleged, adding that all Prime Ministers, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Narendra Modi, had cheated Muslims and Dalits.

While Modi was “Bade Bhai” (big brother), Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was “Chote Bhai” (small brother) in cheating the people, he said.

Stating that the Congress had cheated the people by promising 420 assurances, Owaisi said not a single promise had been fulfilled so far. Though Rs 3,500 crore was announced in the Budget for minority welfare, only 38 per cent had been allocated, he alleged.
