Mancherial: Government whip Balka Suman said that Opposition parties which lost their existence in the country were making baseless allegations against the government. Addressing a press conference here on Tuedsday along with MLA Diwakar Rao, Suman said both the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party had not developed Mancherial district even after ruling the State for a long time. He took strong exception to remarks of TPCC president A Revanth Reddy, who he said was an accused person in the cash-for-vote scam. He had no moral right to criticise the government.
“Revanth had not taken part in the Telangana movement, nor did he resign to the post of MLA seeking a separate state. He was one of the confidants of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. He used to carry a weapon to protect himself when students were struggling to get Telangana. He has no right to comment on the government, which transformed the State in seven years,” Suman remarked.
The government stated that TDP which was a constituent of National Democratic Alliance, led by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) could not develop the district. He found fault with the leaders of the saffron party for their inability in bringing Jawahar Navodaya School to the district and a medical college to Mancherial. Suman asked the BJP leaders to strive hard to halt certain trains, to prevent auctioning of two coal blocks belonging to Mancherial district and to stop hiking prices of fertilizers instead of making allegations against the government. He declared that TRS would intensify stir against the auctioning of the coal blocks in the short future and expose highhandedness of the union government in ruining SCCL.
The TRS district president further said that the State government simplified administration by reorganizing districts and creating new mandals, fulfilling long pending dreams of people. He stated that it had allocated major chunks to develop the district on many facets and sanctioned a medical college to the district. He added that it addressed the drinking water crisis by introducing Mission Bhageeratha. The Chennur legislator said that the government improved irrigation facilities by stabilizing Kadem irrigation project, constructing Kupti Reservoir, Chennur Lift Irrigation, Wardha barrage. He added that it had taken steps to make SCCl a profitable, resumed dependent job scheme, provided housing loans and offered a 20 percent bonus to coal miners.
