Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister, Gangula Kamalakar opined that it was impossible to think about the society without police. Peaceful atmosphere prevailed in the society only because of relentless service by the police of all cadres, he said. As part of police flag-day (police martyrs commemoration day), a commemoration parade was held in commissionerate headquarters here on Wednesday, wherein Kamalakar participated as chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister said people were able to lead peaceful lives only because of the police discharging their duties with a great responsibility by sacrificing their freedom. So, the state was moving ahead on the growth track. Appreciating the services of Karimnagar police, he said local police have become a role model for the entire state by actively participating in social activities instead of confining law and order.

Examining Haritha Haram and Miyawaki afforestation developed by Karimangar police, state government has also taken up Yadadri model forest, he said and termed the services being rendered by the local police during the last four years as extraordinary. Sacrifice of police, who laid down their lives while discharging duties, would not go waste, he said and assured to extend support to the family members of police martyrs. He also promised to solve their problems if any by bringing them to the notice of the state government.

Anti-social activities near Lower Manair Dam, Ujwala park and Deer park areas have been checked with the setting up of lake police outpost. Minister appreciated Collector K Shashanka, Police Commissioner VB Kamalasan Reddy and Karimnagar Municipal Corporation Commissioner Valluru Kranthi for working as a team to check the spread of Covid-19. KMC Mayor Y Sunil Rao, MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao, MLAs Rasamai Balkishan and Sunke Ravishankar, Collector, Police Commissioner, KMC Commissioner, and others participated in flag-day celebrations.
