Gopikrishna said that as many as 1,900 advocates who applied as notaries in Telangana through the notary notification issued by the Central government in 2021 have been waiting for their appointments for the past four years. He also urged for a fresh notification to appoint eligible advocates as notaries by discussing the matter with officials from the Central Law Department.

Ramchander Rao, a senior advocate at the Telangana High Court, and a member of the Bar Council of India, participated in an interactive programme organised under the aegis of District Bar Association president Lakkineni Satyanarayana at the association’s Library Hall.

Satyanarayana and others submitted a petition seeking resolution of various issues faced by lawyers. The demands included the establishment of SC/ST court, family and labour courts in Kothagudem district, issuing of health cards to lawyers registered after 2019, and an increase in insurance coverage from Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh.
