HYDERABAD: It is now becoming a regular feature. In yet another embarrassment to Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, a TV anchor hosting the India Today conclave forgot the name of the Chief Minister and addressed him as “Mr Modi”.

A hapless Chief Minister Revanth Reddy broke into laughter as the audience too joined him, the host corrected herself and addressed him as “Mr Reddy”, but sought to cover up the gaffe as a ‘Freudian slip’. The most embarrassing moment for the CM was that the show was being telecast live.

It was not just the TV host who forgot Revanth Reddy’s name, film actors, Congress leaders and even his Cabinet colleagues and MLAs are failing to recall Revanth Reddy’s name.

Just a day ago, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar forgot that Revanth Reddy was the Chief Minister, and ended up saying ‘BRS chief and Honourable Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’. He was speaking to newsmen on the outcome of the recent MLC elections.

This was not a one-off incident. A few days ago, Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao too made a similar mistake. he took the name of BRS working president KT Rama Rao and addressed him as the Chief Minister. Krishna Rao was also speaking to newsmen to list out the achievements of his government, when he mistakenly said “Chief Minister KT Rama Rao”. However, he immediately corrected himself.

Similarly, Congress MLA and leaders seem to be forgetting the Chief Minister’s name. After TPCC working president T Jagga Reddy, who called Kiran Kumar Reddy as the Chief Minister, Wyra MLA Ramdas Naik struggled to recollect Revanth Reddy’s name at a programme. In a video that has gone viral on social media platforms, the Wyra MLA while addressing the gathering is seen saying “Our Chief Minister Srinivas Reddy and Thummala Nageswara Rao”.

As he struggled to recollect the Chief Minister’s name, leaders on the stage corrected him and said it was Revanth Reddy. After apologising, Ramdas Naik finally said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
