NPDCL AE arrested for duping woman teacher from Nizamabad
An assistant engineer of NPDCL in Adilabad was arrested for cheating a private teacher from Nizamabad of Rs 1.70 crore by promising employment for her daughter and profits from share trading.
Adilabad: An assistant engineer (AE) of NPDCL was arrested on charges of duping a woman in the guise of providing a job and huge profits in the share market, here on Tuesday.
Adilabad Two Town Inspector K Nagaraju said Salman alias Solomon Raj, an AE of NPDLC from this town, was arrested on charges of cheating Guduru Umarani, a private teacher from Nizamabad district by collecting Rs 1.70 crore under the pretext of providing employment to her daughter and helping her earn profits through trading shares.
Umarani lent the money to Salman by taking loans from her friends and relatives in a phased manner. She realised that she was deceived when he neither provided a job to her daughter, nor repaid the amount, citing petty reasons. She came into contact with the engineer through common friends in Nizamabad a few years ago.
