Khammam: Water for agriculture lands in NSP ayacut would be released from August 16 onwards, informed Transport Minister, Puvvada Ajay Kumar.
He chaired the District Irrigation Advisory Board meeting here on Monday and reviewed the action plan for Vanakalam season 2021-22. Speaking on the occasion, he said there was enough water for farmers in Wyra and Lankasagar ayacut to carry out farm operations.
Ajay Kumar assured that there would be no shortage of water for farmers in NSP ayacut and hence no need for them to worry about water supply. There were 12 check dams under construction across the district and they could store 0.425 tmcs of water once completed, he said.
Under Mission Kakatiya, around 842 works have been executed and it helped stabilise around 74, 332 acres ayacut. So far, 40 lift irrigation projects were repaired and if there were any works pending, they have to be completed in the next 20 days, he said.
The State government has accorded permission to Chief Engineer level to Executive Engineer level, any delay in the works would not be tolerated, Ajay Kumar cautioned adding that about 65 lift irrigation projects needs to be repaired and works have to be completed forthwith.
