Karimnagar: National Thermal Power Corporation-Ramagundam has donated Rs 3 lakh worth archery equipment to Karimnagar Police Archery Academy. Police archery academy has been operating in City Police Training Center since 2014. The NTPC Chief General Manager Sunil Kumar handed over the equipment to Commissioner of Police VB Kamalasan Reddy in a programme held in CTC here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Sushil Kumar said the contribution was aimed at nurturing the potential of hidden talents in archery and to provide a platform to the youth of Karimnagar district to showcase their talents and elevate India’s reputation in the field of Archery globally.
The CGM congratulated and complimented the efforts of Karimnagar police for establishing such an academy for the local youth and also laid importance of sports in transforming the life of individuals. Such types of activities will always be backed by NTPC CSR, he added. He intended to work towards increasing the competitiveness among archers by organising various competitions for improved and continuous training, mentoring, etc.,
Kamalasan Reddy thanked NTPC for coming forward to donate archery equipment to Karimnagar police archery academy. Stating that there was no use with mere practice, he advised sports persons to do hard work by fixing goals. Sportspersons undergoing training in the police archery academy were showing good performance in national and international level events. President they are preparing for national events.
NTPC DGM DS Kumar, HR Head Ugender Rao, CSR Executive Nishanth Kishan, Additional DCPs S Srinivas (Law and order) and G Chandramohan (Administration), ACP Nagender, Inspector Madhavi, RIs Janimia, Shekar Kiran Kumar and Mallesham were present.
