Peddapalli: With the objective of wide publicity of Rajbhasha Hindi in official work as well as in daily communication, Hindi Diwas was celebrated enthusiastically at National Thermal Power Corporation (Ramagundam/Telangana) on Tuesday.

Chief General Manager, NTPC, Sunil Kumar kicked off the Hindi Diwas celebrations and declared the commencement of Hindi Pakhwada (fortnight) besides administering the Rajbhasha pledge to the participants.

CGM along with others released the Rajbhasha appeal and asked all to use Rajbhasha Hindi as much as possible in their day-to-day official work. Hindi language has immense power to take all languages together besides it is easy to speak and connect with all, he added. As a Covid protocol, while few employees were present at the celebration, most of the employees connected through virtual mode.

On this occasion, the Rajbhasha appeal from Home Minister, Power Minister and NTPC CMD was read out respectively by Head of HR Vijaya Lakshmi M, GM (O&M) Soumendra Das, and GM (TS) PK Laad.

The occasion also marked Hindi signature competition among GMs, lecture on the significance of Indian languages by Assistant Professor, Hindi Department, Osmania University, Dr K Sangeeta and inauguration of Hindi website (Godavari Intranet).

The much sought-after programme of the day was ‘Akhil Bharatiya Kavi Sammelan’ wherein NTPC employees from different states recited poems in their mother tongue.

During the fortnight celebrations, many activities are planned both offline and online for NTPC, CISF and ICH employees and their family members. With cultural and prize distribution, the fortnight event will conclude on September 28, 2021.
