Numaish visitors experience Hyderabad’s first fully automated multi-level parking
Hyderabad’s new multi-level parking complex in Nampally is open for Numaish visitors, featuring a fully automated sensor-based system. The 15-floor MLP accommodates 250 cars and 200 two-wheelers. Users are charged Rs 30 per hour; official inauguration is pending.
Hyderabad: Visitors to the ongoing 86th edition of Numaish are currently able to utilise the newly constructed multi-level car parking (MLP) complex in Nampally, even as the formal inauguration of the unique facility is yet to take place.
While the All Indian Industrial Exhibition (AIIE) has established free parking zones at Bheemrao Bada, Gagan Vihar, Housing Board, Beside Gandhi Bhavan and Chandra Vihar, many visitors are experiencing the city’s first fully automated parking system at the MLP, albeit for a fee.
B N Rajeshwar, Secretary, All India Industrial Exhibition (AIIE) Society, clarified that the Exhibition Society is not officially linked to the new MLP facility. “The agency that built multi-level parking is allowing visitors to use the space on a payment basis, collecting Rs 30 per hour,” he said.
This development has highlighted the growing gap between the project’s completion and its official opening, as commercial parking operations have effectively commenced to manage the heavy Numaish rush.
Although the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) announced in August 2025 that the facility would be available to the public, a formal inauguration by the State government is yet to take place.
Sources within the HMRL attributed the wait to the busy administrative schedule of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was busy with Jubilee Hills by-election, GHMC wards delimitation and other schedules.
The Rs 102-crore complex, a brainchild of MA&UD Minister, K T Rama Rao, features the country’s first fully automated parking system using German Palis technology.
The ultramodern MLP complex was developed by Bhari Infra Pvt Ltd at a cost of about Rs 80 crore with a concession period of 50 years on a PPP model.
