Officials seize 48 LPG cylinders used for commercial purposes in Jagtial

Civil Supplies and revenue officials seized 48 subsidised LPG cylinders being misused for commercial purposes in Korutla town. Authorities conducted surprise checks at hostels and eateries and registered cases, warning of strict action against violators.

Jagtial: Civil Supplies and revenue department officials seized 48 subsidised LPG cylinders for utilisation for commercial purposes in Korutla on Monday. In the wake of illegal utilisation of subsidised gas cylinders for commercial purposes across the State in the recent past, officials carried out surprise checks in hostels and tiffin centres in the town.

During the checks, they found that subsidised cylinders were being used for commercial purposes. Besides seizing 48 cylinders, cases were registered against the owners of a few hotels. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Tahsildar Umapathi said that it was illegal to use subsidised cylinders for commercial purposes and warned of stringent action if anyone was found indulging in such activity. He informed that checks would continue in the future.
