Hyderabad: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Oil Marketing Companies) on Wednesday assured the public that adequate stocks of Petrol and Diesel were available across Hyderabad and all districts of Telangana.

All petroleum terminals and supply points of the oil marketing companies were fully stocked, and fuel supplies to retail outlets are continuing smoothly to meet the demand of customers.

The companies in a statement pointed out that in certain locations, an unusual surge in fuel purchases occurred due to panic buying, which temporarily impacted availability at a few retail outlets, and clarified there was no shortage of fuel (both petrol and diesel). “Such temporary disruptions are solely due to a sudden spike in demand,” they said.

The Oil Marketing Companies urged the public not to indulge in panic buying or unnecessary stocking of fuel, as the supply chain is functioning normally and sufficient fuel is available. The public is also advised to avoid unsafe practices, such as storing petrol in plastic cans, bottles, or other unapproved containers, as this poses serious safety hazards.
