Hyderabad: In a major decision that is bound to eliminate subjective evaluation of a candidate’s capabilities in recruitment for group 1 and group 2 posts by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC), the Government has decided to consider only the marks obtained in written test and do away with the interview system. This decision was taken in the State Cabinet which met here on Tuesday.
Hitherto, the candidates who cleared the written tests were required to attend an interview by a board, which would award marks to the candidates and the total of marks obtained in the written test and the interview was considered for recruitment. The marks being awarded in interviews, being subjective in nature, were believed to tilt the scales either in favour or against the prospective candidate.
However, the Cabinet considered this particular aspect and decided to do away with the interviews for the group 1 and group 2 posts in addition to recruitment of any gazetted officer posts, according to a press release issued by the Chief Minister’s office on Tuesday.
In another major decision that could benefit thousands of job aspirants, the Cabinet has also decided to enhance the upper age limit by three years for those applying for jobs in police department, the press release added.
