Operation Muskan-XI: Warangal police rescue 177 children
Warangal Police rescued 177 children, including 97 from other states, under Operation Muskan-XI. The inspections were carried out across Hanamkonda, Warangal and Jangaon districts. Strict action will be taken against those who employ children in forced labour
Warangal: Commissioner of Police Sunpreet Singh informed that 177 children working in various areas under Warangal Police Commissionerate limits were rescued under Operation Muskan-XI.
From July 1 to July 31, Warangal Commissionerate police, in collaboration with the Child Welfare Department, Child Line, and Labour Department, conducted inspections across Hanamkonda, Warangal and Jangaon districts.
Of the 177 child labourers, 149 were boys and 28 were girls, while 97 children belonged to other states. The rescued children were handed over to their parents.
Strict action will be taken against those employing children in forced labour. They will be booked under the Juvenile Justice Act and face two years of imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 50,000, the Commissioner of Police said.
