Hyderabad: Devotees can place online orders for Sammakka Saralamma prasadam that would be delivered at their doorsteps from February 12 to 22. The Endowments Department is making arrangements for this service in association with TSRTC, Postal and IT Departments.
The Tribal biennial festival of Sammakka Saralamma will be celebrated from February 16 to 19 at Medaram in Mulugu district. Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy said the door delivery of prasadam will be done through the TSRTC parcel service and through posts. In addition to this service, for the convenience of devotees who wish to offer ‘jaggery’ to the goddesses, the TSRTC would pick up the jaggery and offer the same at Medaram and return it to devotees, he said.
Devotees can avail the prasadam by booking online at Mee Seva centres or through TAPP FOLIO (can be downloaded from Playstore). Devotees, who wish to get the prasadam delivered through posts, will have to pay Rs 225 per pack. Each packet contains 200 grams of jaggery, turmeric, vermilion and a photo of the goddesses.
For delivery of prasadam through TSRTC, devotees will have to contact the nearest TSRTC parcel booking centre. TSRTC will be levying charges for the service based on the distance from the devotees address to Medaram. TSRTC Chairman Bajireddy Govardhan, in a statement, said the corporation will take up transportation of jaggery up to five 5 kg from devotees from different places across the State. This service was launched to help devotees who can’t personally visit Medaram.
In collaboration with Endowments Department, the prasadam packets would be arranged for customers. The packets would be handed over to devotees at the same counter from where they book the prasadam. For this service, Rs 400 would be charged for covering up to 200 km (i.e., from booking point to Medaram) and for the distance exceeding 200 km, (booking point to Medaram) Rs 450 will be charged.
The jaggery will be collected from devotees at the bus stations from February 11 to 17 for transporting it to Medaram. For additional information, devotees can contact TSRTC call centre 040-30102829, 040-68153333.
