Mancherial: An activist was electrocuted when he accidentally came into contact with a live wire at a Home for Visually Challenged in Naspur mandal centre on Friday.
Naspur police said that the deceased was Pendem Ashok Rao, a dance teacher who was running Sai Blind School for the visually impaired orphans. Ashok Rao died on the spot when he came into contact with a live wire when he was switching on an electric motor at the home.
Friends of Ashok Rao and members of many voluntary organisations recalled the services of him for the welfare of visually. Rao had established the institution-cum-home in memory of his son in 2010. He hails from Warangal. He was providing shelter to over 20 students.
