Osmania General Hospital hosts creative events for Antimicrobial Awareness Week

Senior doctors, nursing staff, and students actively participated, reinforcing OGH’s role in community engagement and awareness.

Hyderabad: The Microbiology department of Osmania General Hospital (OGH) is conducting a series of engaging events to spread awareness on World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) between November 18 and 24, 2025.
On the occasion, the post‑graduate and nursing students, along with staff, took part enthusiastically in a flash mob, skit, quiz, interactive games, and rangoli competitions.
These performances and contests are aimed at highlighting the importance of prudent antimicrobial use. These activities underscore OGH’s commitment to combating antimicrobial resistance through education, community engagement, and rigorous infection‑control measures, Superintendent, Dr. Rakesh Sahay, who gave away prizes, said.
Senior doctors from the hospital including RMO I Dr. Jaya Krishna, Chief Nursing Officer, Mangamma, ICO-RMO Dr. Siddiqui, Infection Control Team, led by Professor GV Padmaja, In‑Charge of the Laboratory, along with Assistant Professors Dr. Syeda Nazia Fatima, nursing students and others participated.
