Osmania Medical college edge Mamatha in 60-59 thriller
Osmania Medical College staged a late comeback to edge Mamatha College 60-59 in the Hyderabad basketball league, while Mustangs registered a dominant 72-39 victory against VPG Mayors

Hyderabad: Osmania Medical College recorded an impressive comeback to score a thrilling 60-59 win against Mamatha College in the Hyderabad District Annual League basketball championship at YMCA Secunderabad here on Sunday.
In a close contest, Nayan and Vivek combined well for Mamatha, whereas Manoj and Sudhakar played in tandem for Osmania.
Mamatha College led 10-8 at the end of the first quarter. Dheeraj scored a three-pointer in the dying seconds of the second quarter to give the team a 25-21 lead at half-time.
After the change of ends, Osmania tightened the defence. However, Dheeraj (five three-pointers) and Alex (two three-pointers) put Mamatha ahead.
Osmania mainly scored through Simha and Goutham from the paint. With just 27 seconds left, Navneet of Osmania scored a three-pointer to level the scores 58-58. Alex of Mamatha could convert only one free-throw to make it 59-58, while Goutham of Osmania scored from the paint to win the match 60-59.
In another match, Mustangs beat VPG Mayors 72-39 after leading 38-19 at half-time.
