Hyderabad: Responding to requests from research scholars and in consultations with the Deans of the Faculties of Osmania University (OU), the university administration on Friday issued a circular extending the last date of submission of PhD thesis by scholars availing one time chance from January 31 to March 31.

This provision was extended only to such scholars who have made the research progress seminar and pre-submission seminar presentation in front of the respective Departmental Research Committees by February 28, and March 15 respectively, the OU said in a press release.

The decision for extension was made keeping in view the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Scholars were expected to submit the final PhD thesis by March 31, after which no further extension would be entertained by the University, and the admission would stand cancelled, it added.
