Hyderabad: Osmania University (OU) has decided to enhance its examination branch online services making it more user friendly. Accordingly, the varsity administration will soon link up the student database of the last 10 years to its online services.

The university has been offering online services for obtaining certificates including original degree, provisional certificate, semester memos, migration certificate, equivalency certificate, medium certificate, transcripts and miscellaneous certificates over the last three years.

Students who lost or damaged their certificates can acquire the same from the university by registering on the OU website https://www.ouexams.in/ouexbapp/ by providing details like name, mobile number and father’s name. After registering, they have to apply for a necessary certificate by uploading the required documents in the prescribed format and also pay the necessary fee online. The certificates will be delivered at the candidate’s doorsteps through the post.

“We are updating the examination branch services by uplinking the student database of the last 10 years. In the new system, once the student enters his/her hall ticket number, all details will pop up on the screen. Based on their requirement, students can apply for the certificate and pay the prescribed fee,” OU Controller of Examinations, Prof. Sriram Venkatesh said.

Further, the university is initiating steps to make the examination branch online services more user friendly by introducing a tracking system. Candidates who apply for a certificate will be given an acknowledgement, status besides tracking mechanism of the delivery.

“All details related to registration till the date of delivery, the information will be sent to the candidate’s mobile and email address. Presently, we give an acknowledgement number to the applicant,” an official said.

To facilitate former students of the university who are residing overseas in obtaining the certificates, the administration is planning to change the payment gateway mechanism. The varsity has lined up a new system which will accept any foreign currency. Presently, university students who are abroad can apply only with the Indian currency.
