OU women emerge South Zone tennis champs

OU tennis team comprising Shrivalli Rashmika, Pavani Pathak, Avishka Gupta and Sama Satwika along with manager Farooq.

Hyderabad: Osmania University women’s team defeated University of Madras 2-0 in the summit clash to emerge champions of the South Zone Inter-University women’s tennis tournament at the SRM University, Chennai on Saturday.

In the final, Shrivalli Rashmikaa defeated Lavanya 6-0, 6-0 in the singles to give OU the lead. Later, she paired with Sama Satwika and downed the pair of Tintu and Sharanya 6-0, 6-0 in the women’s doubles tie.

Results:
Final: Osmania University bt University of Madras 2-0 (Singles: Shrivalli Rashmikaa B bt Lavanya 6-0 , 6-0); Doubles: Sama Satwika/Shrivalli Rashmikaa B bt Tintu/Sharanya 6-0, 6-0;

Semifinal: Osmania University bt Andhra University 2-0 (Singles: Sama Satwika bt Anisha K6-2, 6-1); Doubles: Shrivalli Rashmikaa B/Sama Satwika B bt Sivanuja/Anisha K 6-0, 6-1;

Quarterfinal: Osmania University bt Jain Unversity 2-0 (Singles: Shrivalli Rashmikaa B bt Shreya Tatavarthy 6-3,6-1); Doubles: Sama Satwika/Shrivalli Rashmikaa B bt Shravya Shivani/Shreya Tatavarthy 6-1, 6-3.
