Visakhapatnam: “We just couldn’t get enough score, batting first. I think Delhi put up a very good performance,” Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori said after the loss here on Sunday.
“It was a reasonably good wicket and on a small ground. Obviously, we were built to be an aggressive batting line-up, and unfortunately, we were aggressive today, but it didn’t come off,” Vettori said at the post-match briefing.
“There were a lot of dismissals that were unfortunate from our end. But, I still like the way that we remained really aggressive. I think Aniket was incredible,” he said.
“Losing wickets at regular intervals made it difficult for us. We understand that every time we play, we’re coming up with a very good team, well-planned teams and obviously quite talented players,” Vettori said.
On leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari’s impressive IPL debut, Vettori said it was a very good first performance and continued the style that they liked. “It was fantastic, I think from the first day that he came in, we knew that he was a talent and trying to fit him in the team was one of the conversations early on,” he said.
