Dahod (Gujarat): More than 200 villagers suffered from suspected food poisoning after consuming a wedding feast in Gujarat’s Dahod district, an official said on Tuesday. At least 59 villagers were hospitalised following the incident on Monday night, and their condition is said to be stable, the official said.

“As many as 230 people complained of vomiting, diarrhoea, and abdominal pain shortly after having dinner at a wedding in Abhlod village in Dahod district,” Dahod collector Yogesh Nirgude told PTI.
Around 400 wedding guests had consumed a meal that included mango juice around 8 pm, and some of them took ill around 11 pm, he said.

The affected people were rushed to primary and community health centres and private hospitals, Nirgude said. Fifty-nine people were undergoing treatment at a private hospital, and their condition is stable, resident medical officer Dr Rajiv Damor said.
