Hyderabad: More than 200 school children will take part in the three-day sports extravaganza which will be held in various venues within the twin cities, from Oct 27 to 29. Teams from different states, Hyderabad and Secunderabad and Telangana districts will be in the fray.

The competitions will be held in cricket, football and martial arts. The event is being held by Grasshoppers Sports and Entertainment under the aegis of Sports Tourism India.


Disclosing the details at a press conference at the Secunderabad YMCA on Tuesday, Mr. Agha Muzaffaruddin, Joint Secretary, Sports Tourism India and Director Grasshoppers Entertainment, said that this is the 5th edition of the tournament which is held annually at different cities in India. But this will be the first time that it is being conducted in Hyderabad. He stated that the objective of conducting the tournament was to wean the young generation away from cell phones and computer games and make them play outdoor sports.

Mr. Daniel Jayaker, President, YMCA of Greater Hyderabad, Mr. Mohammed Shahid, Director of Sports Tourism India and Mr. Victor Amalraj, former international footballer, also addressed the media.
