Overall crime rate dips in Hyderabad, but violence against women sees uptick

Hyderabad: The crime rate in Hyderabad reduced by 15 percent in 2025, with police registering 30,690 cases as against 35,944 cases the previous year.
Grave bodily offences, which include murder and attempt to murder, came down by 4 percent, and property offences reduced by 28 percent However, crime against women increased by 6 per cent, and POCSO cases rose by 27 per cent.
Hyderabad CP VC Sajjanar said the overall crime rate came down due to visible policing in the city. “In the coming days, we will work harder to curb property offences and the activities of seasoned criminals,” he added.
