Mancherial: Forest officials quickly extended compensation to an owner of cattle killed by a tiger at Nagaram village in Luxettipetmandal on Saturday.
Luxettipet Forest Range Officer A Subhash said that a compensation of Rs 12,000 was given to Gopathi Lasmaiah, whose cow was killed by a tiger within 24 hours after the incident. He stated that a female cattle of Lasmaiah was killed by the tiger while grazing in the forests of Nagaram village on Friday.
The Forest officials urged the villagers not to enter the forests for grazing the cattle or collecting firewood considering the movement of a migrant tiger. They advised the people from rural parts to avoid sudden confrontations with the tiger. They stated that they were keeping a close watch on the movement of the tiger, besides ensuring smooth passage for it.
