Oxygen plants along Rajiv Rahadhari in erstwhile Medak soon
The National Highways Authorities of India (NHAI) will set up these plants while the Defense Research Development Organisation (DRDO) will maintain and operate them.
Siddipet: In view of the increasing demand for Medical Oxygen following a surge in Covid-19 cases, the Union government has decided to set up five Medical Oxygen plants along the highway in erstwhile Medak district.
The National Highways Authorities of India (NHAI) will set up these plants while the Defense Research Development Organisation (DRDO) will maintain and operate them. The representatives of NHAI arrived in Siddipet district to identify the land along the Rajiv Rahadhari near Gajwel and Siddipet. Similar plants will also be set up in Medak, Sangareddy and Jogipet towns.
Welcoming the centre’s decision, Finance Minister T Harish Rao said the Oxygen plants in Sangareddy, Siddipet and Medak will have capacity to produce 1,000 liters every minute, while the proposed plants in Gajwel and Jogipet will produce 500 liters per minute. The Oxygen plants will have a capacity to supply 200 and 100 cylinders respectively a day.
