Pakistan misadventure will trigger decisive action: Rajnath
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warned that any misadventure by Pakistan would invite an unprecedented and decisive response from India. He said Operation Sindoor, launched after the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, demonstrated India’s strong stance against terrorism

Thiruvananthapuram: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said any “misadventure” from India’s neighbour, Pakistan, in the prevailing situation would invite an “unprecedented and decisive” action.
Singh, speaking at a Sainik Samman Sammelan in poll-bound Kerala, said that following the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, India had destroyed the terrorist hideouts and infrastructure in Pakistan.
He contended that after the Pahalgam attack, Indian forces, during Operation Sindoor, brought Pakistan to its knees within 22 minutes and it was the biggest operation against terrorism yet.
“I would like to tell you the operation is not over yet. If such dirty actions are repeated by Pakistan, our armed forces will give a befitting reply which they would not forget ever. What will happen this time will be an unprecedented action,” he said.
Singh further said in the prevailing situation, “our neighbour (Pakistan) can do any misadventure”.
“If it does so, then like I told you, India’s action would be unprecedented and decisive,” he asserted.
On fuel and gas situation, the Union Minister said India was ready to deal with any energy crisis resulting out of the ongoing West Asia conflict.
Singh said that Indian Navy ships were safely escorting the country’s tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, a key chokepoint for maritime trade and an Iranian territory.
The Union Minister said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, national security has been strengthened and the government’s attitude and mode of action has changed.
This, he said, was evident from ‘Operation Sindoor– India’s response to the Pahalgam terror attack of April 2025 that claimed 26 lives.
He said that during the Congress-led UPA governments at the Centre, terror attacks were rampant in the country, with no action being taken against them.
However, the NDA government has curbed terror attacks and taken decisive action against terrorism.
“Be it the surgical strikes after the Uri terror attack, or the air strikes in response to the Pulwama bombing of Indian security personnel vehicles or the Operation Sindoor in retaliation for the Pahalgam incident, we have struck a strong blow to terrorism,” he said.
He said that India has zero tolerance towards terrorism and does not hesitate to take action against it on both sides of the border.
